FAQ

Q: What is Flipps?
A: Flipps is a mobile app that allows you to online videos from your phone or tablet straight to your connected TV with zero setup.

Q: What is the difference between Flipps and Flipps HD?
A: Flipps is a free app, while Flipps HD is paid. Both apps function the same way. The benefits of upgrading to Flipps HD are no banner ads and more channels in HD. More features will be added to Flipps HD in the near future.

Q: What else do I need to fully benefit from Flipps?

A: Just your mobile device and a connected TV. Flipps is compatible with internet-connected TVs by Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, LG, and Philips. In addition, your TV may be connected via Xbox One, Xbox 360, or Apple TV. Flipps works with DLNA and Airplay-compliant media players (there are thousands!). Enter your TV or device model here to see if it's supported.

Q: How are my phone and TV connected?
A: Your mobile device and TV only need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Flipps will then automatically find all the available connected devices in your network.

Q: I don't see Flipps on my PlayStation 3. What is wrong?
A: Supporting PlayStation 3 got harder and harder, and we still couldn't give you the full hands-free Flipps experience. This is why we had to stop supporting it. You can still access your personal content from the menu of your PS3 by using the iMediaShare Personal app for iOS and Android.

Q: What if my TV shows up but is a Digital Media Player?
A: You can still check if it is discovered by Flipps. Most TVs nowadays can do much more than they claim. Even if it is not discovered, you can still use our iMediaShare Personal app for iOS and Android, which will make your personal files streamable from the menu of your Digital Media Player TV.

Q: When I try to stream some videos with iMediaShare Personal they fail. What is wrong?
A: When a video playback is initiated it passes the selected video to your TV in the original format it was recorded. It is up to your TV to support the video format for playback. Please consult with your TV user manual for its DLNA-supported video formats.

Q: What sorts of things can I watch with Flipps?
A: The Flipps channel lineup is constantly growing. There are new blockbuster movies on the Wibi channel, news from Deutsche Welle, France 24 and the Washington Post, documentaries, health tips, music videos, and much much more.

Q: Where can I find more about Flipps?
A: For up-to-date news, promotions, contests and other Flipps updates follow us on Twitter, Facebook or sign up for our e-mail list.
